Samuel D. O’Reilly, lovingly known as Sam, was called home to our Lord on Monday, September 8, 2025.
Born April 19, 1965 to Douglass and Janice O’Reilly, Sam spent his early years in Baytown before moving to Victoria at the age of 13 with his mother and siblings.
From a young age, Sam displayed a remarkable gift for music. With no need for sheet music, he could listen to a song and bring it to life on his guitar with ease and passion. His music filled many rooms and hearts, and it remained one of his greatest joys.
Equally talented with his hands, Sam discovered a love for woodworking that grew into a lifelong skill. His craftsmanship was extraordinary—whether building furniture or creating something from scratch, he had an eye for detail and the ability to make anything out of wood. His work reflected not only his creativity but also the care and patience he poured into everything he built.
Sam leaves behind his beloved daughter, Valli O’Reilly (husband Mark Antonio), and his two grandsons, Shane and Alex. He is also survived by his sister, Kristeen Kutchka (husband Louis); five nieces; two nephews; six great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
Sam was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and his brother Paul O’Reilly. Sam will be remembered for the songs he played, the craftsmanship he mastered, and the quiet strength he carried through life.
There will be private ceremony on September 20, 2025.
