Victoria - Ronald Neil Herrmann, 82, was called by the Lord to join Him in Heaven on March 28, 2026. He was a loving husband, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and loyal friend. Ron was born July 7, 1943, to the late Ervin and Blanche (McDermaid) Herrmann in Houston, Texas. Ron was raised in Pasadena, Texas before eventually joining the Air Force in 1962, where he served honorably for nearly four years. While stationed in France, he enjoyed exploring his new home and new country, all in his MG convertible. In 1965, Ron returned to Houston where the new local baseball team won his heart and he became a lifelong Astros fan.
Ron later attended school and welcomed the birth of a daughter, Michelle, before eventually moving to Victoria where he resided for over 55 years, serving with the Victoria Police Department for a short while. Eventually, a love of learning would draw Ron back to school and in 1976 he completed a B.S. in Science degree from UTMB Galveston. While there, he also welcomed a son, Ronald Michael.
Ron worked as a Physician's Assistant in Victoria for over 38 years. While working as a PA, he met Pamela Anne Uhls of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He and Pam were married in Cape Girardeau on June 27, 1981. Ron and Pam were longtime members of Fellowship Bible Church where Ron served as an Elder, and he enjoyed spending time with his many church friends. Ron was passionate about his work and was blessed with a heart that desired to truly be a help to everyone. This led to him prioritizing his time as a volunteer with VCAM and Hospice of South Texas and, in 2015, Ron was presented with the Heart of Hospice award.
Ron's many hobbies included all things related to Texas Longhorn athletics and playing golf. He also enjoyed spending time with his beloved yellow Labs, Tank and Buddy. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and two of his brothers (Ervin Jr. and Billy Ray). He is survived by one brother, Lanny; wife, Pam; daughter, Michelle Lanter (Frank) of Austin; son, LTC Ronald Herrmann (Jessie) of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Isabelle Erdmann of Shakopee, MN, and grandchildren, Isla and Barrett Herrmann and Nicholas, Emily, Cassandra, and Jack Erdmann.
A Celebration of Life will occur at Fellowship Bible Church on Saturday, April 11 at 11:00 am with Pastor Clayton Lopez officiating. Interment of ashes will occur at Houston National Cemetery.
