Richard John Koczaja

Richard J. Koczaja, age 76 passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2022 in Victoria, TX. Richard was born on November 6, 1945 in Buffalo, New York to the late Stanley and Zora Mae Koczaja.

Richard proudly served in the US Navy and actively fought in the Vietnam War having received many medals of recognition and commendation for his service in this war.

After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked several years in the oilfield industry starting as derrick hand, rig manager, driller, tool pusher as well as other positions. He also worked several years in hotel management and maintenance. Richard's skills were many and varied. 

He is survived by his sister, Joyce McCauley of Cuero, TX; nieces, Molly (Brian) Kelly of Nashville, Katy (Don) Dy of San Francisco and one great nephew, Matthew Kelly.
