Peter Douglas Bartlett

Peter Douglas Bartlett was born on October 25, 1959. Coincidentally, also on his delivery Doctor’s birthday. He was named after Dr. Einer Peter Higgins, which was a blessing because otherwise, his father wanted him named Ulysses… 

Peter was good-natured, happy-go-lucky and enjoyed his siblings & family life as a child. He had many friends, Robert Pace, Drew Pelletier, James & Donald Pelltier, Jim Stevens & many more. Together they embarked on many boyish adventures from shooting off fireworks & setting ant hills on fire to seeing how far they could get driving across alkali flats without getting stuck, of course getting stuck was part of the fun….  

He was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was in the sixth grade and had to have insulin shots every morning & every evening. He suffered a few hardships due to this disease/ailment but persevered throughout his life when it threw a monkey wrench into his days. 

Peter graduated from North Toole County High School, Sunburst, MT. in 1978. He went on to Northern Montana College in Havre, MT. and earned an automotive certificate. 

He was very mechanically inclined, starting at an early age, when he was given a tool set & with his older sister, successfully dismantled his tricycle that his Uncle Harold had bought for him. The tricycle was never reassembled to any ridable contraption, but Peter learned how to use wrenches & pliers, etc. and took things apart, diagnosed the trouble and put them back together so they worked properly. Sometimes there were extra parts leftover. He went on from there to work as a mechanic, an oil field employee, farm hand, Penske, Lowes, etc. 

In 2005, he met Maria Jaramillo Delacruz & her son, David. Peter & Maria were married on July 1, 2006 and forged/created a happy family. They welcomed a daughter, Gabriella on March 5, 2009.  Peter loved his wife, daughter & stepson, creating a nucleus that gave him great happiness. 

He also loved his nephew Bjorn Iverson & his young cousin’s, Heather & Josh Bartlett. 

Memorial services will be held at Victory Life Ministries, 2902 E North St, Victoria, Tx 77901, at 3pm
