Peggy A. Evans of Victoria, TX passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the age of 96. She was born February 29, 1928, in San Antonio, TX to Robert and Clara Mae Floyd.
She attended high school in San Antonio and after graduation worked for Southwestern Bell. Peggy married Frank Evans, “her West Texas cowboy”, on February 25, 1949. He often referred to her as his “San Antonio Rose”. They were married almost 64 years and had four children together. Over the years they enjoyed many family vacations and home remodeling projects. Peggy was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her friends and family. She was also well known for her baking, especially her German Chocolate cakes. Her smile and kindness will be missed by many. Peggy was baptized in 1953 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and looked forward to the hope of everlasting life on a paradise earth, a time when suffering, pain, sorrow, and death will be no more. (Revelation 21:4)
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Risinger, and Laura Huber (Mike), and two sons, John (Sandy) and Joel (Amy), along with six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great-great- grandson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, June Benigno, and Betty Cobb, husband Frank Evans, grandson Aaron Huber, and son-in-law Kenneth Risinger.
The family would like to thank Twin Pines North for all the tender care that was given to her during her time there. A special thanks goes to the nursing staff and caregivers on the 300 hall.
