Patrick Julian Martinez, Sr. (63) of Victoria, Texas, passed on July 31, 2023.
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend on July 31, 2023. Patrick, fondly known as Pat, was born to Rosendo and Rosita Martinez in Victoria, Texas on June 23, 1960, and from an early age, he exhibited a remarkable kindness and compassion that would define his legacy. He was a very humble man, always fair, loyal, honest, respectful, and a hard worker, and he instilled those values in us.
Above all else, Pat was a loving and nurturing parent. His children were the light of his life, and he took immense pride in them. As a father, he provided unwavering support, sage advice, and a shoulder to lean on during both joyous and challenging times. Pat is survived by his four children, Patrick Julian Martinez, Jr. (Vernie), Sean Christopher Martinez (Molly), Penny Lane Martinez (Josiah), and Angel Rose Martinez. He is also survived by his six brothers, Ricardo Martinez (Diana), Homer Martinez, Ross Martinez, Noel Lee Martinez (Stella), Jesse Martinez, and Johnny Lee Martinez, and his four sisters Mary Elma Myers (Allen), Diana Espinoza (Eligio), Rosanna Martinez-Penrod, and Mary Jane Montes (the late Roberto Montes Sr.) He is also mourned by his five grandchildren, extended family members, dear friends, and countless lives he touched during his time with us.
As we bid farewell, we find solace in the precious memories he leaves behind. His love, guidance, and strong spirit will forever echo in our hearts, guiding us through life’s journeys. We want to thank all of you who are here today to share in Pat’s loving memory. Memories are a masterpiece, and we were all honored to have been able to create and be a part of those memories. His legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to resonate with us all. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Forever in our hearts, you will be dearly missed, Pat. Until we meet again.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., at Victory Life Fellowship (Ministries), 2902 East North St. (across from the Victoria Community Center).
A Letter to our Dad:
Today we celebrate the life of our dad, Patrick Julian Martinez. Our dad was a very spiritual man who loved the Lord. He was a student of the Bible and could quote many Bible scriptures and could easily quote verses verbatim.
He was one of a kind who loved to chat and was a big jokester. He loved his brothers and sisters, and no one could mess with his family, or he would take matters into his own hands. He loved to talk, make you laugh, hang out with family and his beloved grandchildren. He loved music and memorized all the lyrics ~ he loved The Beatles, Barry White and all the Oldies. He was quite extraordinary when it came to reciting “Movie Quotes” and be prepared as he would easily quiz you to see if you knew the quotes from certain movies. He loved landscaping and was excellent at what he did.
He was always looking at the bright side of things. He was most respectful and always expressed his appreciation for all of those who helped him when he was in need. He never failed to say, “Thank you, I appreciate you.” He was a fighter and he never backed down and was very confident. He will always have a special place in our hearts. Every call and every text he always had the affirmation to say, “I love you”, and “QUE DIOS TE BENDIGA”.
