1934-2025

On Sunday July19, 2025 Mercedes Fernández “La Paloma” passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family at the age of 90. Born November 26, 1934, in Rio Bravo

Married in 1956 to Israel Fernandez who preceded her in death in 2017 after 61 years of marriage. Migrated to the US with her three children Israel jr., Uriel and Sergio Fernandez. Had 2 more children Oscar and Nidia Analy Fernandez.

She will be remembered by her prideful stories of working for the government’s Federal De Haciendas as an Administrator. She played an important role in the allocation of funding resources for the prominent cattle & agriculture ranchers of the 1950’s in her region of Mexico. This rewarding career allowed her as the oldest sister to build her parents their first home in her hometown of Nueva Rosita Coahuila.
