Mary L. ("Bode") Goldman

Mary Louis “Bode” Goldman born June 10, 1938, in San Antonio, TX to Frances Sylvia Williams Bode and Marvin Alexander Bode of Stockdale, TX. Her Family moved to Banquete, TX in 1939. Bode graduated from Banquete High School in 1955. Bode graduated from Durham’s Business College in 1956 and enrolled in Texas A&I Kingsville. There she met her future husband, Roy Goldman, and became “Bode” to all her friends.

After marriage, the couple moved to FT. Monmouth, NJ, while Roy fulfilled his 2nd LT. Army obligations. Bode obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and taught in elementary and junior high for many years. During her last 10 years in education, she became director of Victoria ISD’s Teen parenting Program, which she helped fund by writing numerous grants. She retired from VISD in 2001.

Bode is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Cody.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Dee Ann Smith and Cindy (Bob) Buchholz; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on July 15, 2024 at 10:00 am at the United Baptist Church, 3102 Miori Ln, Victoria, TX 77901.
