Marjorie Bower Obituary

Marjorie Sue Bower, beloved mother, age 91, left this temporary life on Earth, to reside at her eternal home in Heaven on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Marjorie was born in Springfield, Missouri on January 17, 1933 to the late Ella Modena Barrett and Robert Glen Pickering.

Marjorie was a devoted mother to sons: John Day (late Caroline), Stan Day (Melissa), Shawn Bower (Michele) and daughter, Roberta (Robbie) Jaynes.   She exemplified the very definition of a Proverbs 31 woman.  She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."

She traveled across the world with her husband and resided in Abu Dhabi for a brief time in the 80’s. Marjorie took special joy in caring for her children. She was the best mother, never complained and was supportive and full of love. She was full of wisdom and we will never forget the times that she spoke into our lives, especially when we “needed” it. She brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with her kind heart and radiant smile. She was an avid seamstress and loved to crochet and do crafts with her grandchildren.

Marjorie was was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Jay Bower, Jr., her parents and her brother Rober Pickering (Bob), and is survived by her brother Joe Pickering, her four children, seven grandchildren: Austin Day, Waylon Bower, Tonya Estes, Cody Day, Robert Bower, Kaitlin Strane and Collin Bower and four great grandchildren, who will never forget the love and care she brought to their lives.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 12 Noon, at C3 Victory Church, 1604 E. Crestwood Dr., Victoria, TX. There will be a reception to follow.

Donations to Hospice of South Texas, 1005 Mallette Drive, Victoria, TX 77904, in her name are appreciated.
