Maria Genoveva Cruz

Maria Genoveva Cruz, 67, left this world and gained her wings on May 21, 2025, in Karnes City, Texas. Born on October 20, 1957, Maria was a cherished figure in her community and amongst her family, celebrated for her vibrant spirit and loving nature. Maria devoted her life to her family and friends, embracing her role as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend with unmatched warmth and generosity. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was cooking delicious meals for her loved ones, dancing with friends, or enjoying music. Her love for animals also shone brightly, reflecting her compassionate and caring personality.

She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly: her sister, Stella Villanueva; her children, Rudy and Alesha Cruz Jr., Jennifer Villarreal, Simon Rose Marie Cruz of Kenedy Tx Aaron and Sarah Cruz of Pettus Tx and Veronica and Freddie Bautista of Karnes City Tx. Maria was a proud grandmother to 21 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Lola Sauceda.

A celebration of life will be held in Kenedy, Texas at The Kenedy city hall auditorium at 1pm on 6/8/25 to honor Maria's memory and her enduring impact on all who knew her. Maria's life was a testament to the power of prayer love and joy of living each day given. Her strength will continue to inspire and influence her family for generations to come.
