Luther "Bruce" Hart

Luther “Bruce” Hart 76, passed away Sunday November 17, 2024.  He was a husband, father, step father, grandfather, great-grandfather and dear friend to many.   Bruce was born in Palacios on August 29, 1948 and was the son of Murray Hart.  He was a lifelong resident of Palacios and graduate of Palacios High school class of 1966.  After high school he would briefly attend Wharton Junior College before being drafted by the United States Army.  He spent time with the military in Germany working in the finance office.  After serving his country he found his career as a heavy equipment operator until he retired.  In his free time Bruce enjoyed the outdoors, fishing or hunting with friends, woodworking, tending to his small garden and picking his guitar.  He and his wife Betty were huge Houston Astros and Houston Texans fans, if there was a game on you would find them together cheering for their teams. 

Bruce was preceded in death by his father Murray Hart, wife of 43 years Betty, and step sons Jack and Johnny Sardelich.  He is survived by Judy Hart (only mother he knew and loved dearly) daughters Melanie (Allan) Bock, Ginger (Richard) Beyer, Step daughter Joan (Wayne)Kocurek, Step son Jeff Sardelich, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service honoring the life of Bruce Hart will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Palacios at 11am Friday November 22, 2024.  Please join the family and friends as we share memories of a life well lived.
