Kenneth Harper Hardt, born January 21, 1958, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late Calvin “Pete” Hardt and the late Nancy Jane Hardt.
Kenneth graduated from Devine High School in 1976 and later moved to San Marcos, Texas, where he attended Southwest Texas State University (SWT). He earned his bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science and Plant Studies. Coming from a long line of farmers, ranchers, and florists, Kenneth was deeply rooted in the land and in tradition.
Known for never meeting a stranger, Kenneth had a gift for conversation and loved exchanging stories. He embraced life fully, whether fishing, gardening, traveling, or riding his motorcycles. His joy for living was infectious, and he reminded those around him to do what makes them happy and to keep enjoying life.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Hardt; his sister, Terry Hardt; and his daughters: Britanny and Abel Monreal, Taylor Salinas, and Heather Powell and family. He was a proud grandfather to Daniel, Bryce, and Brayden. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, dear friends, and extended family members.
In accordance with Kenneth’s wishes, he will be cremated. His message to all: “Thank you. Do what makes you happy and keep enjoying life.”
Kenneth was deeply loved by his family and friends. His spirit will be missed but never forgotten. Until we see you again on the dark side of the moon.
