It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
John Lee Phillips, Sr on March 25, 2025 at the age of 82.
He was born in Yadkinville, NC on February 21, 1943, he is the son of the late Andrew Clingman Phillips and Opal Atkins Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his sister Brenda Gail Ashburn and brother in law Harold Eugene Ashburn.
He is survived by his wife of 7 years Millie Phillips and his companion dog Huck,
his children
Dawn Marie Phillips and
John Lee Phillips, Jr both of Macon, Georgia.
Step sons Dean and Dale Urevig
of Minnesota.
Niece Jill Ashburn and Nephew Hal Ashburn of Yadkinville, NC,
also his very special cousins
Crick, Gee, Peggy, Bobby (Linda) Phillips, Patsy, Jerry and Jimmy of NC.
He was a 9 year veteran of the United States Air Force where he won several awards, got the highest re-enlistment bonus ever given, finished his service at rank E7 Tech Sargent.
He was very computer savvy.
He loved to build things.
He made guitar's that have been played on the Grand Ole Opry by Mr. Mike Morgan & David Ball.
