Jerry "Ponch" Rodriguez

Jerry “Ponch” Rodriguez, 58, passed away on July 3, 2025. He was born on February 8, 1967, in Port Lavaca to the late Juventino Rodriguez and Mary Helen Velasquez. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Helen Velasquez and Juventino Rodriguez; brothers Henry Rodriguez and Lawrence Rodriguez. 

Jerry is survived by his daughters, Jeannie (Bronson) Vega of Saint Hedwig, Angel Tristan (Chris Garcia) of Victoria, and Aubrey Tristan (Matthew Carney) of Edna; grandchildren Nash, Christian, Joshua, Cecily, and Emery; sisters, Sabrina Rodriguez and Marina (Gil) Araiza, brother Danny (Jessica) Rodriguez; many nieces and nephews. 

Poncho was a man of God, who carried his heart on his shoulders. He loved and prayed for his friends and family, near and far. His passions were his trade, football, playing the guitar, listening to music. Poncho was artistic and creative. Good morals and work ethics were important to him. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Ponch will be dearly missed. 

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, at 2 p.m., at Rustic Ranch, 1301 Tristan St, Victoria.
