Jeannie Lynn (Shanks) Smith

Jeannie Lynn Shanks Smith, of Port Lavaca, passed away on June 24, 2025. She was born the middle child to the late Harold Millard Shanks and Annie Bell Chudalla Shanks on November 3, 1951 in Wharton, TX.

Her greatest pleasure in life was "back porch" visits reminiscing with family and friends.

She mourned many who passed before her. She is survived by a wonderful legacy; her Husband, soulmate and best friend, James (Jim) Donald Smith, Jr, of Port Lavaca; Sons, Jason Christopher Hastings (Lilly) of APOPKA, FL and Duane Randall Smith (Rhonda) of Port Lavaca; Grandsons, Brandon James Smith (Madeleine) of Port Lavaca and Wyatt James Hastings of Apopka, FL; Granddaughter, Lauren Lanae Smith of Port Lavaca; and Great Grandson, Hagen James Smith of Port Lavaca; Sisters, Hazel Shanks of Wharton and LaVerne Shanks Pierce (Tommy) of East Tawakoni, TX; Sisters in Law, Beulah Smith Muschalek of Victoria and Linda Smith Tapley (Sherman) of Edna; Brother in Law, Royce (Doodle) Eugene Smith of Port Lavaca; Aunt in Law, Sue Lovewell Locke of San Antonio; multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews; Faithful companions, Buddy, Chewy, Harvey, and Irma Jean.
