James Michael Matson

James Michael Matson, Mickey to most, was called home on June 24, 2022, at the age of 69. He was born to Stanley M. and Mildred L. Matson on April 4, 1953 in Port Lavaca, Texas. He graduated from Calhoun High School and joined the National Guard at the age of 18. He was a farmer and rancher who enjoyed spending his free time fishing and hunting.

He is survived by daughters, Chrystal Liddle (Bill) of Schenectady, NY and Robin Russell (Jason) of Weesatche, TX; son, Bo Matson (Valerie) of Victoria, TX. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. In addition, he is survived by sisters; Brenda Peterson (Lummie), Phoene Shrimpton (David); brothers; Stanley Matson, Jr. (Mary Ann) and Joseph Matson. 

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Port Lavaca, Texas on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
