Gary Everett Gutshall

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Everett Gutshall “Pops”, who passed away surrounded by family on 31 October 2025, at the age of 68. Gary was born on February 22,1957 in Beloit WI; he lived in Rockford Illinois before moving to Victoria Texas. Gary was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears; he was a long-standing member of the SM&SF Club and the Elida Club both of Rockford Illinois. Gary was an entrepreneur and business owner before retiring. Gary enjoyed traveling, fishing. In his later years he enjoyed family time with his grandchildren, visiting friends at the club, sitting out on the deck with his pup Tippy and smoking his pipe. He was proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Catherine Gutshall, 3 siblings, his f first wife of 30 yrs, Karen Gutshall, his beloved pup Tippy. He is survived by his loving wife Linda Smalley Gutshall, his stepchildren Mary & husband Mike Copeland, Angela & wife Karen Taylor, Tammy & husband Jesse Smalley, Adam & wife Paige Taylor, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. His brother Charles Gutshall of Arkansas and sister Barbara Cardott of Illinois and 4 nieces. In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Gary’s name. There will be a memorial service at a later date when he is returned to Rockford Ill for his final resting place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
