Ernest Gutierres

Ernest Gutierres, son of Ernestine F. Gutierres and Manuel P. Gutierres, was born on February 20, 1958, in Ganado, Texas. He is preceded in death by Ernest Gutierres Jr and his grandson Santos Martinez Jr., 3 brothers, Manuel Gutierres, Daniel Gutierres, and Thomas Gutierres

     He is survived by his siblings, Irma Zamora, Armanda Hernandez, Ismeal Gutierres, Juan Gutierres, and Olag Margeson

     He was married to his beloved wife, Marcia Gutierrez, for 47 wonderful years. Ernest was the proud father of Justin Martinez, Amy Myers, Jadrian Gutierres, and Jordan Gutierrez. He loved all 18 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and adored his pets, in addition to being a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Edna Cowboys.

     Throughout his life, Ernest was renowned for his tireless work ethic and unwavering dedication. He had a passion for carpentry and possessed the skills to build almost anything. Always impeccably dressed, he carried himself with a sense of pride and charm. As a husband, he was unparalleled, consistently ensuring that Marcia had everything she needed. A generous soul, he was always willing to lend a helping hand and was loved by many in the community for his service in numerous homes.

     Ernest had a passion for cooking, a notorious sweet tooth, and embraced every moment of life with joy, no matter what was happening around him. He passed away on October 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him in Edna, Victoria, and his family in Corpus, especially Janet.

     We extend our gratitude to all the medical personnel who have provided care for him over the past two months, including the staff at Citizen Hospital, Post-Acute Medical (Victoria), and DaVita staff.

     At this time, no funeral service will be held.
