David A. Pocock, 63, of Victoria, Texas, passed away on April 27, 2022 after a 3-year extensive battle with colon cancer. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, David managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. Those loved ones were by his side and in his heart on his final day.
David was born on August 11, 1958 to Willard and Florence Pocock in Bellevue, Ohio. A graduate of Clyde High School’s class of 1976, David retired from Whirlpool in Clyde after 32 years. David was an avid sports fan, specifically found cheering on Ohio State football, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Indians. David also loved spending time at the beach, especially Texas’s South Padre Island. David also enjoyed wine tasting with his wife, Vicki; traveling to visit family and friends; solving complex crossword, word search, and jigsaw puzzles; and spending time with his cats, especially his “therapy cat,” Squirt.
David was blessed with a large, loving family and is joined in Heaven by his father, Willard Pocock, and companion, Deb Long. David is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Gates, as well as his children and grandchildren, Matt (Rachael) Pocock and their two children Kaitlin and Zachary; Tara (Scott) Morrin and their daughter, Rachel; Heidi (Eric) Bouillon and their four children Addyson, Maci, Braden, and Ainsley; and stepson, Kyle (Kathryn) Letson. David is also survived by his siblings Jerry (Margie) Pocock, Dale (Carrie) Pocock, Phyllis (Ross) Whitehead, Mike (Hilda) Pocock, and Aaron (Heather) Pocock, and his loving mother, Florence (Boger) Pocock, in addition to many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Although there will be no funeral service, a celebration of David’s life will be held in Clyde, Ohio, at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude’s organization, in which David was very passionate about.
