Don Delano Hinds, a lifelong resident of Calhoun County, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 1st at the age of 83.
He was born January 30, 1935, the youngest of five children born to William Mathew and Althea Puckett Hinds. A Port Lavaca High School graduate, he married Doris Estelle Blake on January 1, 1955. A master plumber, he worked for Young Plumbing Company and then ALCOA retiring after 25 years. In retirement, he pursued his life long love of being a cowboy by working on the Circle S ranch in Three Rivers, TX and the K8 ranch in Placedo, TX.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, sister Doris, brother Matt and Son, Darryl. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris, sons Don Jr. (Judy) of McGregor, TX and Douglas (Amanda) of Seadrift, TX, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren along with sisters Lou Tidmore of Victoria and Billie Murphy of Corsicana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private service and requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to your favorite charity.
