Brian Edward Cody

Brian Edward Cody was born on November 9, 1976, and passed away on September 18, 2023.

Brian is survived by his parents, Lloyd and Genny Cody of Port Lavaca, Karen Howton and Johnny Howton sister and brother-in-law of Waco, TX, Brenda McLain and Jeff McLain, sister and brother-in-law of Fort Worth, Brett Cody and Sabrina Cody, Twin brother and sister-in-law of Whiting, VT.  Nephews, Seth Howton, Luke Howton, Nathan McLain, Stephen McLain, Andrew Cody and Jacob Cody.  Nieces, Leah Cody and Abigail Cody. And his ever-rambunctious dogs Boomer and Baylee.

Brian was an avid collector and decorator of Christmas decorations and won 3rd place in the 2022 Christmas Decor contest for Victoria.  He was a member of the Victoria Civic Choir.  He graduated from Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca, TX and graduated with honors.  He graduated from Baylor University in Waco, TX.  And he assimilated one of the largest Baylor University sports memorabilia and sports card collections.

His greatest love was for Jesus.  His favorite verse was John 20:29–…blessed are those who have not seen and have believed” Brian loved being a member of Community Baptist Church in Victoria, TX, where he said, “you just feel the Spirit of the Lord.”

A Memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Port Lavaca.
