Andrea (Lara) Mendez

Andrea Lara Mendez, 91, of Port Lavaca, Texas left us peacefully on January 3, 2025. She was born February 4, 1933 in Long Mott, Texas. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Andrea will always be remembered for her beautiful eyes which greeted you with kindness and warmth.

Andrea was a homemaker and worked many many years in the seafood industry and enjoyed cooking the fruit of her labor.

She is preceded in death by her husband Federico T. Mendez; parents, Jose and Carmen Lara; 3 brothers and 8 sisters.

Andrea is survived by her son, Fred Joseph Mendez (Dolores) and daughters, Dora Vann (Eloy), Della Salinas (Edward), Ida Flores and Sylvia Rosas (Sam) as well as 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Andrea's life will be held January 18, 2025 at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, Port Lavaca, TX. Rosary will begin at 9:30 am and Mass at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
