On Wednesday, July 4, 2019, Paul Jay Bower Jr., loving husband and father, passed away and was received into the arms of the Lord, at the age of 82.
Paul “Bubba” Bower was born on March 10, 1937, to Paul and Fern Bower, Sr., in Detroit, Michigan. He then moved to California. His career as a Fishing Tool Specialist took him many places: Abu Dhabi, Egypt, and Trinidad and Tobago, before he planted and rooted in Victoria, Texas in 1985, to work for N.L. ACME Tool Company.
He married his “Silver Fox”, Marjorie Sue Pickering on September 18, 1963. They were married for 55 years.
Paul was a fan of reading western novels and enjoyed listening to music. He was also a fan of fast cars. Fact is, no matter what car he purchased; and he had many, it always had a “race car engine” in it (LOL)! He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate heart. He was always quick to help meet the needs of others and was a friend to many.
He especially loved his grandchildren: Austin, Waylon, Tonya, Cody, Robert, Kaitlin and Collin. He loved to purchase the biggest and best gifts and could never wait until the day to celebrate, because he would gift them early.
Paul was preceded in death by his father and his mother, his brother Wayne Bower and daughter-in-law, Caroline Day. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Bower, and his children: Mike (Beth), Susie (Bob), John, Stan (Melissa), Shawn (Michele), Roberta (Bodie), and Sherry. A memorial and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 11th, 2019, at C3 Victory Church, 1604 E. Crestwood, Victoria, Texas, at 3 o’clock p.m.
