Whether we called him Honey, Daddy, Brother, Uncle, Grandpapa, "Huck" or Mark, Mark Morton has left countless lives immeasurably richer for the love he freely gave, until his heart finally gave out and he passed from this earth on February 20th. Mark was born to Jerry and Jody Morton on December 7, 1957. He was married to the love of his life, Melissa, and together they shared 36 years of marriage, were blessed with their children Kate and Cyrus and chose to build their lives with us here in Victoria. He was brother to David, brother-in-law to Angus McGinty and Amy Brown, and Uncle to Kayla, Madalynn, Gavin, Lauren, Samantha and Hunter. He was also a proud Grandpapa to Kennedy Blue Cadena. He was "Huck" to many, many friends. Mark's passing is bittersweet; sad because it's too soon to the rest of us left behind who loved him, but its sweet because he's now with his precious son Cyrus. They are finally together and embracing as father and son, as they did here on earth, joined now forever in heaven. His body gave out too son but his love he freely gave remains strong and everlasting with us all. We are all better people for his generosity in having lived his life next to ours. Thank you Honey. Thank you Daddy. Thank you "Huck" and thank you Mark. We love you. Sleep well. A service celebrating his life will be, Saturday, March 2 at 2pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1501 N. Glass.
