GROVER C. BOYD

Grover Cleveland Boyd, III, age 62, of Port Lavaca, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019. He was born September 5, 1956 in Port Lavaca to Grover Cleveland (Dode) Boyd, Jr. and Juanita Ruddick Boyd.

He graduated from Calhoun High School and was a lifelong resident of Port Lavaca where he worked for the Calhoun County Independent School District.

He is survived by his mother; two brothers, Edward and (Diane) Boyd of Katy, TX and John Boyd of Richmond, Virginia; five sisters, Frances and (Jim) Roemer of Talullah, Louisiana, Jennifer and (Victor) Sorrento of Westfield, New York, Martha and (Stuart) Verret of Richmond, Virginia, Angela Boyd of Sealy, Texas and Rebecca and (Mike) Gordon of Richmond, Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and twin brother, Jessie Owen Boyd.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23 from 9-10 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.
