April 16, 1933 ~ February 24, 2019 (age 85)

Bonneau, Doris Gray was born on Easter Sunday to Ronald & Ida (Hubbard) Moore in Smithfield, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lloyd Moore, and her husband Normand R. Bonneau.

Doris is survived by her sister Pearl (Steve) Cody;  brother Vennis Moore; her children, Bennie (Brenda) Perkins, Jr. Peggy Lorenz-Chiles, R. Bishop (Carl Cornish) Hubbard, Diane Bonneau; 4 grandchildren, Nicholas (Jaime) Fikes, Danielle (Chris) Anderson, Lacey Lorenz, Brittney (Jerry) Rogers; 8 great-grandchildren, Brianna & Summer Anderson, Braxton & Gracelyn Rogers, Hannah Lorenz, Kaleb Ashley, and Peyton & Avery Fikes; as well as many Loving Nieces & Nephews.

For 85 years, 10 months, & 8 days this beautiful soul walked this earth. She will be remembered for her kindness & caring ways… and her wit, she was funny!  She was always making us laugh. Her sweet snicker & sideways grin will be greatly missed.

She spent 20 years moving around this country, following her husband during his military career, working as a waitress while raising her family.  She continued waitressing for 30+ years after settling in Corpus Christi, working at Floyd’s on SPID & Andy’s kitchen for over 20 years until her retirement in 1998 after more than 50 years of waitressing.

She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all her “Adopted” kids and grands, including Toni Alhborn.  She enjoyed reading, bingo, casino trips, gardening and beautiful sunsets. She also loved her peppermint candy, ice cream & fried catfish. She was a fantastic cook & showed her love by feeding everyone.  We will dearly miss our Memaw!!

A celebration of her life will be held at her home on her 86th birthday, April 16th at 6 p.m. until sunset.

In lieu of flowers a random act of kindness or generous waitstaff tip in her honor would make her smile!

She leaves us very rich in memories.
