Jeraldine (Jeri) Park Obituary

Jeri Park, 77 formerly of Edison, Nebraska passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at Bethany Senior Living in Port Lavaca, Texas. Jeri’s wishes were to be cremated. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday May 25th @ 11am at the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Nebraska

Born February 19, 1947, in Holdrege, Nebraska to Arthur and Pearl (Huff) Bash. She grew up in rural Harlan County and received her education from Alma Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1965.

She enjoyed farm life playing in the creek, playing with kittens and dressing them up with her sister Judy. Being in 4-H is where she learned to sew and cook. Cooking dinner for her Dad when he came in from the field gave her great enjoyment.  He got all the mistakes she made but never complained and ate every bite. She loved going to church and attending youth camps. She was 14 when she gave her life to Christ. She was married to Charlie Park on May 21, 1965, in Phillipsburg, KS. And to this union 3 children were born, Tina, Tony, and Eric.

She attended Holdrege Beauty Academy and received her State License in 1966 when she began working as a beautician.  She had many jobs in her life like fixing hair, working at the church furniture factory, Better Buys, waiting tables, bartending, answering service, housekeeping at hospitals and nursing homes and working at BD for almost 30 yrs. However, there was not a job she loved more than that of a mom and grandma. She loved gardening and canning what she grew. A few of the things she canned included veggie soup, spaghetti sauce, salsa etc.  She loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers in all sports!!!  She loved all college football, volleyball, baseball, and basketball!! She loved attending her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids events. Whether it was attending boys and girls' basketball, football, baseball, softball, volleyball, motocross, speech, cheerleading, One Act Play, vocal and instrumental concerts, and soccer. She always wore numerous spirit buttons showing her great joy, pride and support for her kids, grandkids and great grandkids and their teams and schools.

In 1996 she was baptized in the Republican River south of Edison with the Christian Church in Edison, Nebraska and renewed her love for the Lord! She was a member of the Trinity E Free Church and Baptist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska.

She retired from BD in 2002 and she and Charlie began to remodel their house inside and out!   Her life was rocked when Charlie passed suddenly on February 18, 2003, and was never the same. In May 2022 she moved to Texas to live on the ocean with Eric and Stephanie.  She suffered a stroke shortly after moving which put her dementia/Alzheimer’s into overdrive and she never fully recovered.

She is preceded in death by her son Tony, parents Art and Pearl Bash, husband Charlie and sister Judy Bantam.

She leaves to mourn her passing; children; Tina Park of Dunbar, Nebraska, Eric Park and his wife Stephanie of Seadrift, Texas, grandchildren Colton Breinig of Omaha, Nebraska, Seth Breinig of Lincoln, Nebraska, Hannah Logston and her husband Hayden of Lincoln, Nebraska, Treianne Patterson and her husband Taylor of Kearney, Nebraska, and great grandchildren Charlie and Tommy Breinig, Malachi Patterson, and Huxten Logston, as well as many nephews, nieces, some very special cousins, and friends!!
